Entry (Residence) Permit for Family of Expatriate
With effect from 20th March 2016, there is a new rule for applying Family (dependant) visa. Now while applying for Family or Dependant visa procedure is made easier than before. Once you have all the required Original documents ready, all the process can be completed from any authorized typing centre.
All the required charges such as Application fee, Bank Guarantee, Deposits, file opening and courier charges to be processed through any authorized Typing Centre. Due to any reason there is a cancellation of application, refund of all the amount can be processed through to the sponsor Bank account only. IBAN (International Bank Account Number) of the Sponsor (applicant) is required.
Once the visa is applied online, you will get the approval from Immigration through SMS. On receiving the SMS from the immigration (GDRFA) on your registered number you can then visit the Immigration centre. You will receive application status through SMS about approval or modification if any required in the application. On receiving the approval White colour Visa will be mailed to applicant’s E-mail address. If you need pink colour visa, you can visit any GDRFA Dubai branch after receiving approval SMS.
Steps to be Followed :
First Step :
Dependant Entry Permit :
Type the dependant entry permit and scanned all the documents required at any authorised Tying centre to process the Family or Dependant visa. If the dependant is outside country then do Outside country typing, if he is inside country then do Inside country typing. All the dependant visa needs to processed online and wait for the approval message from GDFRA to the registered mobile number. On receiving the approval message the visa will be sent online to a registered email id at the time of application.
Visa holder should enter UAE within 60 days from the date of issue and should complete Emirates ID, Medical and Visa Stamping within 60 days from the date of entry/status change. If the visa holder couldn’t enter UAE within 60 days from the date of visa issue, visa can be renewed against payment of Dh360+typing charge. This renewal is allowed two times.
If the Sponsor is INVESTOR/PARTNER the following additional documents are required: 1. There is a deposit of Dh3020 for each family member. This amount is refundable after cancellation of the visa from the Immigration. The amount will be credited to the sponsor account. 2. Trade License copy & partners List (second page of license) 3. LLC Agreement (share value should not be less than Dh70,000) If the sponsor is Mother As per the UAE immigration rule, Mother can sponsor the child if receive NOC in Arabic from husband. If the husband is out of UAE, NOC has to be attested by UAE Embassy abroad and Ministry of Foreign Affairs inside the UAE.
Second Step :
Change Status:
On receiving the online visa, and if the Dependant is inside the country then need to do the change status of the applicant. If the dependant is on tourist visa or Visit visa he need not travel outside the country. The change status can be done by applying through any authorised Typing centre. On receiving the approval message from GDFRA, the change status documents will be sent to a registered email id.
Third Step :
Medical Typing:
On completing the Change Status, you can then do Medical typing and then proceed to do the Medical Test at the authorised Medical Centre.
Fourth Step :
Emirates ID Typing:
Once Medical typing is done then you can do Emirates ID typing and then proceed for finger prints (if required).
Fifth Step :
Visa Stamping:
On receiving the Medical report and EID application, proceed to the nearest Typing Centre to process the Visa stamping. Once the application is submitted online one should wait for the approval from the Immigration. The approval message will be received through sms on the mobile number given and an Airway bill number will be assigned to pick up the Original passport by Zajel. Kindly contact Zajel and arrange for pickup of documents. After the Visa is stamped on the passport Zajel will deliver the passport after 2 working days.
Weak professions include: Follow up clerk, Archives Clerk, Insurance Clerk, Sales, Sales Representative, Sales Executive etc.
For Sales Executive: Dh4000 salary and Company provided Transportation is must (Transportation by First Party in Contract)
Non-eligible professions include: Light Vehicle Driver, Messenger, Eye Glasses Salesman, Maintenance Mechanic General etc.
• Passport Copies (colour) of Wife and children.
• One photograph (white background) of each sponsored person.
• Sponsor’s original passport and Emirates ID.
• Original Marriage Certificate attested from UAE Embassy in Home Country and Foreign Affairs in UAE.
• Original Birth Certificate (for child) attested from UAE Embassy in Home Country and Foreign Affairs in UAE.
• Original EJARI Certificate & Electricity Bill. If you live out of Dubai, Municipality attested Tenancy Contract and Electricity Bill. Tenancy/Ejari should be in the name of the applicant or spouse.
• Original Labour Contract. (Minimum Salary Dh3000 + Accommodation or Dh4000). Labour Contract can be printed from Tas’heel Centre on payment of Dh53. Passport copy is enough for printing Labour Contract. No need attestation.
• Original Salary Certificate (for Free Zone / Semi Government / Government Staff)
• Visa Fee Dh360 and Dh210 for file opening charge (Typing charge extra) should be paid at Typing Centre. If you have paid for file opening before, bring the receipt for scanning.
• If the sponsor is Government or Semi-government Staff, application Fees: Dh310 (Typing charge extra).
• Last three months bank statement. Online print will not be accepted.
• IBAN (International Bank Account Number) of the Sponsor (applicant).
• Confirmation letter in Arabic for daughter older than 18, stating that she is still not married. Parent (sponsor) has to be signed on the letter.
• Recent Dewa Bill.
First Step :
The medical typing of the applicant needs to be done and proceed for medical check-up. EID renewal needs to be done once the medical is done.
Second Step
On completing the above the applicant must arrange a medical insurance before proceeding Visa stamping.
Third Step
On submitting the documents online, the person will receive a SMS incase of approval of the visa or any modification required in the documents submitted. If approved Passport will be collected by the Zajel courier to the Immigration and will be delivered to the address provided by the customer. For Urgent fees paid by the applicant, they need to visit the Immigration centre along with the Original Passport of the dependant.
Normal Application The documents will be picked by courier and delivered by Zajel to and fro form immigration.
Consent Letter
A Letter in Arabic giving consent that daughter older than 18 years, that she is still not married and the Sponsor has to be signed on the letter.
Note Sponsor Salary should not be less than Dh 4000 or Dh 3000 + accommodation.

• Labor Contract/Salary Certificate if person working in Freezone
• Bank account number (IBAN)
• Original Tenancy Contract (Ejari) and Electricity Bill
• Share sale agreement copy duly attested by Notary public
• Attested Original Marriage Certificate (for wife)

Family Visa cancellation (Inside Country)
The process for cancelling Dependant Visa is much simpler and easy. The visa cancellation application should be typed in E-DNRD at the typing centre and no need to visit Immigration Department physically. The approval of cancellation will come in a hours’ time and the cancellation print can be taken from the Typing centre.
If you need cancellation stamp on the Passport then the sponsor can visit any immigration centre along with the Original Passport and the confirmation of cancellation receipt.
Family Visa cancellation (Outside Country)
If the dependant is outside the country while doing the cancellation of visa, the sponsor should visit the typing centre and typed the application in old e-form. The sponsor then needs to take the Exit print out details from Immigration centre by paying charges DH 126. This should be attached along with the application form and visit the Immigration centre.
